Two similar requests:
(1) Is it possible to update the newly-realized autoinsertion of "{}" after
"_" and "^" in math environment such that: if a region is active (selected),
then if input _ or ^, the selection part automatically inside of {} and
place the cursor after "}"?
(2) In text environment: if _ or ^ is not led with "\",
a. for ^, convert it to \textsuperscript{} (place the cursor inside the
braces if no active region or place the active region inside the braces and
the cursor outside the }, and at the same time give a warning about it in
the minibuffer.
b. for _, like a "$" symbol inside a math environment, user must use some
command to force it with a warning in the minibuffer.
Cheers.
BTW: I'm using AUCTeX w/ preview-latex11.81
MikTeX 2.4
CVS Emacs 22.0.50.1
Windows XP.
