I encountered this same problem last week. I assume you are using gcc and
have it installed in /usr/local/bin. In that case, you need to make sure
that the variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH includes the location /usr/local/lib,
because this is where libstdc++ probably is. At least it was for me (on
Solaris 2.8).

Hello,

I ran the make with the new version of aspell GNU Aspell 0.50.2 on solaris
2.7 and received the following message:-

echo '#define PREFIX "/usr/local"' > dirs.h
./mk-dirs_h /usr/local DICT_DIR /usr/local/lib/aspell >> dirs.h
ld.so.1: ./mk-dirs_h: fatal: libstdc++.so.2.10.0: open failed: No such file
or directory
*** Signal 9
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `dirs.h'
Current working directory /home/u47412/aspell-0.50.2/common
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all'
Current working directory /home/u47412/aspell-0.50.2/common
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive'

What is Signal 9 and Error Code 1 ? How can I resolve this issue? Should the
root or the superuser run the configure and make?

Thanks

Timo
