This is technically not ok. When downloading `/` and `/index.html` it is 
unpredictable which is first. The first one is saved as `index.html`, the 
second as `index.html.1`. But the user has to guess which is which. And this 
might break badly when using `--mirror` (which includes `--recursive` and 
`--timestamping`), because the timestamps may be swapped.

So the question is not *if* we change something here, it is *what* exactly do 
we change.
