Once again I just got my mind confused. What I propose is:
@commands like @emph, @asis... do not change anything compared with
text. A period after a lower-case letter leads to double spacing,
after an upper case letter simple spacing.
For code like commands and @var followed by a period, there is always a
double spacing, whether the last letter is upper case or not.
One question remains: for period within a code like command, like
@samp{some. Good}
should there be a double space after the period?
