The size of disk space used for the GUI libraries is negligible in
comparison with the amount of data we'll be generating! I'll contact
Scott Christley to see how he got on, but since building everything from
source is a hassle (we've had problems with BLT) and on a grid you're
not going to want the GUI anyway, being able to ./configure
--without-gui (or somesuch) when compiling Swarm would be great. There
would need to be a macro defined (like __NO_SWARM_GUI__) so that when
compiling models you can #ifdef out the gui bits.
