I feel I need to emphasize this point: it isn't necessary to copy a
SwarmObject.  There's no reason to use a SwarmObject at all for the
implementation of reactive agents.  Just use an ordinary Java object, and
the issue is avoided..

If someone paid the SDG to do that, we would do it.  As a potential
SDG employee, $150,000 US would get my attention.

To be honest, I think it's a big WOMBAT (Waste of Money, Brains, and
Talent), and I certainly have no inherent interest as a volunteer in a
literal rewrite. Every time I have this discussion it basically just
ends with some unrelated issue like "you should get rid of Tk" (even
though it isn't an obstacle to using Swing), or "pure Java is just
what my clients expect".  Well, I say either change your expectations
or put your money where your mouth is.

That being said, we've got a pile of ideas about what we'd like to see
in a next generation simulator...
