The Cygwin32 Windows environment has the patch program, and most any
Linux-based system should have the patch program in /usr/bin.  The source
code to patch is available from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/patch.

The usage of patch is like this:

$ cd /src/swarm-1.4.1
$ patch -p1 < the-patch-text-saved-to-a-file
