patch

Dear all,

I wanted to know how to run my Swarm program
on a computer in which Swarm is not installed,
and I found a message explaining it:

However, I did not understand a basic word, "patch."
What is patch? How should I use the patch appearing
in that message?

Any of your suggestion will be appreciated.

I am using Windows 95.
