RE: Help with installation, please -- results of make CC="gcc -v"

Why don't you show us what was in your Makefile.conf when you originally
made Swarm.  Before you go making symlinks and such, it seems to be
prudent to check the fundamentals.  The error messages you got remind me
of what I've seen when a user just runs "make" without adjusting
directories in Makefile.conf.  In particular, you must configure to tell
it where the libraries are.
