This calls for zombie! :)

In zombie-mode windows are not closed, if the running program stops,
but a message is output. If you then press k (see command above), the
window is closed. Pressing r restarts the program, as it was created in
the first place.
Might get some time to get used to it. But this is a great timesaver if
you want a tool to always run in a certain window in screen.
