Hello! Thanks everybody, looks like we are good to move forward with this! I have now fixed a bunch of issues and uploaded to Debian a new version that builds with librsync2. I have also created https://github.com/rdiff-backup/rdiff-backup/, added Eric Zolf as member there, I have prepared a CI pipeline for quality assurance etc. I have also tested Eric's PR contents and next I will proceed with merging a bunch of patches I and others have. Thanks for the encouragement to those 20 people who gave "stars" :) I will keep this list posted on progress later this week.
