Hi Chris,

I've now cleared up the mess a little, removed all the BSD stuff (that
I can find) and have done a clean installation of 1.1.15 on the Linux

'ssh -C %s /home/isbd/bin/rdiff-backup --server' to make it work. I'm
not quite clear why this should be as my PATH includes /home/isbd/bin
but it's not a big problem.
Non-login shells (such as ssh with a command) do not usually read your
profile or bashrc, and therefore normally miss out on any custom
environment variables, aliases, etc. If you need this, run a shell, such
as 'ssh -C %s bash rdiff-backup --server', or write a wrapper script for
rdiff-backup.
Cheers, Chris.
