Sorry for the delay, but here goes a recap of the things I've done with everybody's suggestions in order to get preview working on a mac.
- w3mimgdisplay is installed and functioning "correctly" in that it will open image files in X11 in an ImageMagick window when typing w3mimgdisplay . So, while it isn't displaying images in the terminal, it is installed and I can make it open images.
- Running sudo ranger (the sudo is there to make sure I have admin privileges to run the binaries in /opt/local/bin in case there is an issue with w3mimgdisplay needing more privileges to run) still gives the error "Method number 0 is undefined". However, it no longer says "Error [2] No such file or directory".
- Running ranger --debug doesn't crash the file manager. Good job with the coding! Should I pipe any debug messages to a file and send them?
- Running ranger and then selecting a .jpeg file and typing r gives the following list.
- 11 | feh --bg-scale "$1"
- 12 | feh --bg-tile "$1"
- 13 | feh --bg-center "$1"
- 14 | feh --bg-fill "$1"
- 15 | ask
- 16 | "$EDITOR" -- "$@"
- 17 | "$PAGER" -- "$@"
- :open_with
- Installing feh allowed me to press enter on an image and have it open in X11 in an ImageMagick window through the mac terminal which is progress. I don't see a setting for w3mimgdisplay above. Could this be where the problems are?
