Yeah, that bug bites people from time to time. It's a guest kernel bug,
so the options are:
 * use highmem=off to work around it
 * compile your kernel with LPAE support (not a bad idea
   anyway for the virt board, it allows you to have more RAM
   and a bigger pci window)
 * use a newer kernel where the bug has been fixed
