It seems reasonable to me. On UNIX systems, the file extension allows the identification of the file, this allows the process is transparent to the user.
Anyway within a few hours I'll upload the repository icon for ZSAV files, in the case in the future get a proper mime type.

1. We cannot then have a separate icon for .zsav files ; the OS will treat .sav and .zsav as
(conceptually) identical.
