I like the change adding the logo, but I find the blue text on the
orange background hard to read.  Maybe it would help if the orange was
not quite as bright?
In my browser, the text on the orange background is black (not blue),
but I get your point about readability. I picked the orange colour
simply by copying the one used in the logo, so I'm not sure if we should
change the colour. Two options could be

   * just keep the grey colour that is currently used, or
   * make the font bold, by adding

      font-weight: bold;

     to 'div#nav div#currentnav' in octave.css.

Try the following if possible.

White (or almost white #eeeeec) bold letters on the logo's orange.
