Follow-up Comment #13, bug #60620 (project octave):

And I have just changed text save format to binary to avoid any kind of
rounding errors - though in reality there is still the issue of x86 internal
80 bit register representation vs 64 bit representation.

The behavior is still the same - there is no segfault with saved in binary
form data.
