Follow-up Comment #3, bug #60620 (project octave):

According to my observations the segfault occurs when 'deg' (per 'help
expfit') is exactly half of length(y), and the last one-liner demonstrating
the bug in my previous comment (which is

"
expfit(16, 0, 1, rand(1, 32))
"

) demonstrates minimum required power of 2 length(y) - which is 32.
