Follow-up Comment #9, bug #55048 (project octave):

I have just tested a recent build on Windows 7. Floating variable panes can be
resized at all sides, but the border for resizing with the mouse only seems to
be 1px thick and the mouse cursor does not change into the typical one for
resizing.

this is a known issue of some window managers and is not handled by qt (or the
application using qt).
