Those Shift+Home etcera are caught by the terminal emulator,
to scroll through its history. Those keys have no purpose when
nano is running, but I don't know how to tell the emulator to
let go of them.

In the attached second attempt, Shift+Control+Left and
Shift+Control+Right work now. Tested on a Gnome Terminal
and an Xfce4 Terminal.

It's a pity that Shift+Home and Shift+End don't work; if they
could be made to work, then selection by holding shift in this
form would be already quite usable, in my opinion.
