Yup, that's what I would expect to use as well.

There's really only one little difference between debian/control in
n.v.m and the one in my snapshot branch:

 Build-Depends: cdbs (>= 0.4.28), debhelper (>= 4.0.0), autotools-dev,
- libboost-filesystem-dev, libboost-regex-dev, libboost-dev, libz-dev
+ libboost-filesystem-dev, libboost-regex-dev, libboost-dev, libz-dev,
+ po-debconf

Is po-debconf something we actually need?  I've never really checked,
but it was there in the n.v.m.debian branch once upon a time...

I don't have enough knowledge for that part, so I'll happily leave
that entirely in your hands and will just be a willing tester ;-).
