An afterthought; After pull and update, before applying my changes to debian/changelog, the first entry was 0.22-0.1 by Nathaniel. So that would rule out that I was trailing the 0.20 branch.
Weird. Have you done a pull and update now?

Me too. It almost sounds like you'd got some rogue patching in there, without getting MT/revision changed to reflect the revision you were really working on, or some other weird shit like that. I'm guessing wildly here, as I have about zero experience with this kind of weirdness (monotone works very well for my needs, and I've yet to lose control over what's happening).
