I currently work for a group of computational statisticians at a large
pharma corp. We've been using BitKeeper happily for some projects and
are now looking for a replacement. On discussion of Monotone's use of
hashes, the detection and handling of collisions was their first
question and concern, and at this point may be a large enough point to
push them elsewhere. I don't consider my concerns unjustified.
