It's amazing what you can learn with g++ -E...

In smap.hh, please change all occurrences of _K to _KEY and _D to 
_DATA, or something else that's a bit more unique and descriptive. :-) 
_D on Mac OS X apparently collides with some numeric constant when it's 
included within change_set.cc.
