In 1.99, you can use the "import_temp" command instead of
the "import" command, no ? It should work better since you
specify the position where the windows temp is mounted ...

If you are using mldonkey 1.99b8 you won't be able to
import an old tempdir with .part-files.
I figure it out by installing a normal edonkey client
an setting the preferences because of the tempdir an
incoming. Only tempdir is necessary really. At this
point I left the standard entry "temp" there and made
an softlink (ln -s <source> <linkname>) in the edonkey
directory to my old tempdir with .part-files.
For example:
/edonkey/
rmdir temp
ln -s /oldparts temp
After that I started the normal client for one time to
let edonkey hash my old parts. Don't know if it is
necessary, but I did. Then I killed it again.
Now I started the stable version of mldonkey 1.16
where I was using the same main config entries like in
1.99b8 (incoming, temp ...) and did a "telnet
localhost 4000", "auth <passwd>" and the import
command for old configs "import <maindir of edonkey>".
I think I got a problem with the import function of
mldonkey 1.99b8 and then I did it with 1.16, but I
don't know it anymore. Better do it like I did.
For example:
/mldonkey1.16/
vi downloads.ini (do main config)
./mldonkey &
telnet localhost 4000
auth <passwd> (if password is set)
import /edonkey
By the command "import ..." my old config was read and
all .part-files where imported into the new set
tempdir. Only *.part.met files are kept in the dir of
old parts. You can delete them.
!!! Attention !!!:
Please save away new current downloads in tempdir and
your actual files.ini, if you had some running, before
you import the old .parts! After import copy your
saved away downloads back into the tempdir.
At last copy your new files.ini including the whole
entries of the old downloads into the dir of mldonkey
1.99b8 and merge it with the backuped files.ini, if
you have a backuped.
Now you are ready to start your mldonkey 1.99b8 with
your full download archive!!!
Hope you will be happy!!!
Sebastian
