[Mingw-cross-env-list] Problem compiling mex

I'm new to mex. I've cloned the code from

git clone -b stable https://github.com/mxe/mxe.git

When I do a make, I get the following error:

Any thoughts what I am doing wrong? I am on Unbuntu 12.04 LTS
