I just built both 2.8.8-12 and 2.8.8-13 on a 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04 system. The 
results were exactly the same as on Cygwin; view source always works on 12, and 
often fails on 13 (including for all 4 url's named below).

hmm - from my Linux configuration, these work properly.

I'll see if I can reproduce this with cygwin (thanks)
