Check for the existance of a TEMP environment variable at the dos prompt.
Win95 usually makes it C:\WINDOWS\TEMP and I always change it to C:\TMP as
a throwback from my DOS only days. Anyhow, so I have a SET TEMP=C:\TMP in
my autoexec.bat and it does exist. It must be a subdirectory--it can not
be the root or lynx will be confused.
Another good thing to do is put lynx in a simple place like C:\LYNX and
set a HOME variable to it.

Look in "my computer" for a "dial up networking" folder. In there should
be a "make new connection" icon and another icon that hopefully dials your
provider. Hopefully that is right since I don't have a modem on any of
my DOS or Win computers.
