ok - I don't have a 10.x system to experiment on, but I've been told that
with 10.x, there's more than one bug (perhaps patchable) with the default
curses.  However, there's that "color" curses (which I added a test in #59
to try to pick up).  A copy of the logs would help me analyze that (to see
if my script found it, or what).
