I tried 2.5 and 2.7.1+mods
and the version is shown on the O)ption menu,
the history page (backspace) and the information page (=).
If you aren't seeing it on any of these pages, you probably
have an ancient version.
If you can get to a shell and call lynx directly,
type lynx -version.
