I just got Lynx 2-7-1 for VMS, compiled it (after commenting out
the definitions of htons and ntohs; will this be fixed in 2-7-2?),
but it fails as follows:
Alert! This client does not contain support for https URLs.
The originating URL is http://www.counsel.com. My inexpert reading
of the source code suggests this may be because their server claims
to be http 1.0, but https is a 1.1 feature, thus Lynx refuses to go
along with such non-standard behavior. Is this correct?
(I did try looking in the archives, but they only go through the end
of 1996; this appears to be similar to issues in the "Lynxisms explored"
document, but not exactly).
