Looks like I was not clear.
A buggy driver is what you have in your port, my friend.
Your Ethernet driver/port sometimes misses the second out of two
consecutive frames. Hence the retransmissions
Check your Ethernet driver and/or contact your vendor.
You can search the list for some references and probably solutions to
some vendors having this issue (their fault, not lwIP related at all).
BTW, the vendor example might be flawed too, you'd better get git head
or at least 1.4.1 and the contrib tree.
