Accidental Cancellation Glyph anomally with Global Staff Size

Hello,

Please see two *.png files, As you can see the glyphs are quite different - the 
counters are rhomboid in one and square in the other.

What causes this is that the one with the Rhomboid counters have the setting

#(set-global-staff-size 22) at the start and the other didn't (i.e. it used 
whatever LilyPond's default).

It doesn't make that much difference obviously as you can hardly tell the 
difference on a printed output, but I did notice it both on the PDF on screen 
and printed out. 

However I am slightly curious to know why this would occur given that 
Postscript (I thought) would not show such differences even at these relatively 
high levels of zoom.
