I really have no idea, unfortunately, but I don't think the source of
the problem lies in the dynamic engraver.
As I understand it, the figured bass engraver is a completely
different kettle of fish from the dynamics engravers, since it doesn't
rely on a spanner object to collect the items; in the case of your
example, since there are two dynamics in the same system, a
DynamicLineSpanner is created between the two, which avoids the
skyline from the chord.
