I'm not sure. It depends on how you have set up the compilation.
I'd guess it should work if you do 

   make web 
   ...
   mv out-www/offline-root out/reference-web   
   ..change..
   make web-clean; make web
   output-distance.py out/reference-web out-www/offline-root
