Hello,
the following question is on my mind:
obviously, the file .gnus describes the *configuration* of the program.
I assume, that the information about subscribed groups and read messages
therein belong to the program's *persistent state*. I know of three
files in $HOME somehow being involved:
.newsrc
.newsrc-dribble
.newsrc.eld
Actually, on my file system I normally see only ".newsrc-dribble~", but
in some situations I am asked, whether I wanted to save
".newsrc-dribble" (i.e., before starting compilation).
When I want to transfer the persistent state to another machine, does it
suffice to copy the aforementioned files? Somehow I could not find a
concise description of these files' roles.
Thanks for hints and greetings!
Peter
