Mail digest as an attachment?

I know how to create a digest of mails and send them as a 'new' mail to
a recipient. Is it possible to create a digest of mails and include it
as an attachment in the reply to an email (not one of those being
digested). The situation came about because there was an email thread
(not on a mailing list) about a particular issue and someone else (not
one of the thread participants) raised the issue in a separate email and
I wanted to digest the previous discussion and attach it to the reply to
his email.
