Thanks Giorgos.  That worked quite well for the time being.

After digging through the Gnus manual a bit more, I realized that I had to run 
`M-x nnfolder-generate-active-file'.  After running that in the Server buffer, 
quitting and reentering, all the folders got listed.  This is nice!
