  Heh, or just as likely that someone has been getting a bit overenthusiastic
and trying out all the exciting possible options in the config file without
realising that they've been reading a version of the manual somewhere on the
web that is for a more recent version of CVS than what they're running.....

  But yes: we can't diagnose what the underlying cause of the problem is from
our end, and Manish should certainly make sure he understands why and how that
cvs server came to be fed with a config option it doesn't understand.
