    It works with `texi2dvi', but `makeinfo' fails:

    c:\Scantest\DOC\TEXINFO//parser.texi:235: Unknown command `'.
    c:\Scantest\DOC\TEXINFO//parser.texi:235: Unknown command `'.

I tried this small example, and it worked with both makeinfo from
texinfo 4.8 and in current CVS.  Can you send your actual input?
