a 'justification' for using the development version: I run on multiple
linux platforms that typically have different stable versions of octave
(or even gnuplot/fltk), so I decided to compile the development version
on each platform. I usually don't do 'bleading edge computing', and
have not run into bugs that were caused by using the development
version. I realize I shouldn't bother you with bugs due to the
unstability of my version, but I don't think I have done so up till now.

thanks
