Hi!  There is a 'make uninstall' in GNU SASL, and it should remove the
installed libraries.

Without knowing for sure, it sounds as if you have two versions of GNU
SASL installed at the same time, and jabberd2 picks up one of them.
Check where they are installed, and whether the paths are included in
/etc/ld.so.conf (or similar).  Also check if the symlinks on the
libgsasl.so files actually point at the right files.  Could you check
this?
