grub2 1.98~20100115 fails to boot macbookpro5,5 in efi mode

Dear all,

I am trying to boot grub2 version 1.98~20100115-1 (from debian) in efi
mode on a macbookpro5,5 but it hangs with

[Linux-bzImage, setup=0x3000, size=0x2af250]

420
Trampoline at 0x3b0000, code32=100000, real_mode_mem=0x89000
error: no suitable mode found.
Booting however

No output == hang after booting however ...


I followed instructions from
http://grub.enbug.org/TestingOnMacbook

doing

./configure --with-platform=efi --target=x86_64
make

with these commands:

menuentry "Linux" {
  search /vmlinuz
  linux /vmlinuz root=/dev/sda3 video=efifb


Any ideas?
