I've done this, but I still have ugly fonts in Emacs (not much
better within "xterms", but I guess there are other settings
there to look at).

I also checked the font string that I was using within Emacs
when launched from Gnome by:

    o   launching `ielm';
    o   typing `(frame-parameters)';
    o and looking at the "font" string.

I've copied that string:

  (font .
"-microsoft-consolas-regular-normal-normal--11-*-*-*-*-*-fontset-startup")

to my `.stumpwm' init file:

  (set-font
"-microsoft-consolas-regular-normal-normal--11-*-*-*-*-*-fontset-startup")

But it is still no better (after having restarted the X server).
What am I missing?

Thank you very much!
  Seb
