Can you save the configure-time log with:

    $ ./configure --with-x --with-x-toolkit-lucid 2>&1 | tee logfile

and then post online somewhere the files `logfile' and `config.log'?

This way we can look at what `./configure' does and try to find out why
it fails to locate the necessary X11 libraries.
