David,
All of your points are well taken, and I appreciate everyone's concerns
regarding incompatible feature changes and run time library problems. I
promise that if I begin making changes or building binaries for distribution, I
will not intentionally create any interface or binary compatibility problems.
(I assume that there are a number of Emacs/NT users still on the Windows 9X
platform, as well.)
To everyone,
Let me contact the Guy and the other Emacs maintainers regarding the direction
of emacsclient and whether updating gnuserv would be a waste of time. I am
willing to continue using my own hacked up version of gnuserv in the interim if
a working emacsclient is on its way.
Best wishes,
Matthew
