Dear All,
man.conf from man-1.5p has the following lines:
# For use with utf-8, NROFF should be "nroff -mandoc" without -T option.
# (Maybe - but today I need -Tlatin1 to prevent double conversion to utf8.)
configure has
# -Tlatin1 is bad when utf8 is used, but needed for groff, not for nroff
# Hmm - also needed for nroff, to prevent double conversion on uxterm
What is the kosher way to configure man+groff for UTF-8 now?
Since man is the major (or even only) consumer of groff services,
keeping its maintainers informed about new groff features seems to
be essential for success ;)
Sincerely, Michail
