Yo Charles/Bernie!

Just in case you two can't agree, a modest proposal.

gpsd has packaging/deb for debian files:

$ ls packaging/deb/
packaging/deb/etc_default_gpsd.in  packaging/deb/etc_init.d_gpsd.in

gpsd has packaging/rpm for Fedora files:

$ ls packaging/rpm
gpsd.init.in  gpsd.spec.in  gpsd.sysconfig

We could create a packaging/Ubuntu for Ubuntu files, then move
the contents of systemd/ there. Currently:

$ ls systemd/
gpsdctl@.service.in  gpsd.service.in  gpsd.socket.in

Charles can put Debian systemd files in packaging/deb

Bernie can put Debian systemd files in packaging/Ubuntu

After that, you each get your won way.

Comments?
