Hi Eric, 

could you please elaborate what is this bug and why it is important? Does that mean, that gpsd is not working at all with the receiver? Could you provide some link to bug description?

I have at stake purchase of two units so I would like to have very good idea what I shall expect :)

I do not have a fix for mode-switching yet.  However, I have pushed a
fix that should allow interpretation of the NEA 4.1 GSVs the M8 ships.
