I have no intention to fork whatsoever. My only point was that I did not
want to bother people in this preliminary stage. As for the "nongnu" in
the address, unfortunately this has been decided for me. In the
description of the project I put "An OpenMP implementation for the gcc
compiler collection", which clearly states my intention. However, the
savannah administrator who aprpoved the project decided that since there
is no code to look at for the moment, it would have been better to park it
in the nongnu area and let then decide the appropriate people afterwards
whether this software could be merged in the GNU family. Obviously my
final ambition would be to integrate the project with the gcc as soon as
this is workable, a bit like what people at g95 are doing. I hope we all
agree on that, otherwise we can discuss the issue.

That's the most reasonable thing to do, I think.

As for optimisation, well I'm completely ignorant of what can be done and
how, so I rely on more expert people on this list.
